dialog:On the ribbon, click Flow Simulation > Insert > Goals > Equation Goal.
On the toolbars, click Equation Goal on the Flow Simulation Features toolbar.
In the menu, select Tools > Flow Simulation > Insert > Equation Goal.
In the Flow Simulation Analysis tree, right-click the Goals item and select Insert Equation Goal.
The goal definition pane appears at the bottom of the screen.
As variables, you can use specified goals, parameters of the specified project’s input data features and model equations or variables controlling the geometry:
To add the specified goal as a variable:
Click Add Goal
button.
Then select the corresponding goal from the Add Goal list and click Add
button.
Also you can add the desired goal by clicking it in the Flow Simulation Analysis tree.
To add an area or a volume of the model items (faces, components, etc.) as a variable, previously create a corresponding goal on the desired surfaces or components by using one of the following parameters: Area (Fluid), Area (Solid), Volume (Fluid), Volume (Solid) and then add the created goal as a variable.
To add a parameter of the Input Data feature (boundary conditions, fans, initial conditions, etc.) or a parameter specified in General Settings, i.e., parameter of initial and ambient (for external analyses) or initial (for internal analyses) conditions:
Click Add Simulation

Then select the corresponding parameter from
the Add Parameter list
and click Add
button.
Also you can add the desired parameter by
clicking the corresponding Input Data feature
in the Flow Simulation Analysis tree,
then select the desired parameter from the Add Parameter list
and click Add
button.
To add a model equation or variable controlling the geometry:
Click Add Equation
.
Then select the variable from the Add
Parameter list and click Add
.
The selected variables appear in the Expression box defining the equation goal.
Note, that the selected variables are specified in units of the selected unit system.
For transient analyses, you can add a physical time as a parameter to the equation by typing “t” or by clicking the t (physical time) button.
Time-dependent parameters can be added to the expression, but coordinate-dependent parameters cannot.
If an equation goal links to a parameter that is dependent on coordinates you will get an error message during the project rebuild.
If specified constants signify some physical parameters (i.e., length, area etc.) make sure to specify values in the project’s system of units.
to remove the last added variable, symbol
or operator from the Expression box.To delete the entire content of the Expression box, right-click the expression and select Clear.
Flow Simulation has no information about the physical meaning of the specified constant so you need to specify the displayed dimensionality by yourself.
If you clear this check box, the goal’s convergence is used for information only so the calculation may be stopped before the goal is converged. See “Finishing the Calculation” for details.
.The new Equation Goal items (VG) appear in the Flow Simulation Analysis tree.
To edit the definition of an Equation Goal, in the Flow Simulation Analysis tree, double-click the Equation Goal item, or right-click the item and select Edit Definition.
