Allows
you to import solid materials from the SOLIDWORKS model
and specify them as Flow Simulation features
for corresponding components.
Also you can import PCBs or volume heat sources.
Procedure
- Open the Import Data from Model
dialog:The Import Data from Model pane
appears at the bottom of the screen and Flow Simulation will
automatically start the scanning process to find data available
to import.
You can interrupt the process by
clicking Stop
. Then you can restart the scanning process by clicking Scan model for importable data
.
- After the scan is completed successfully, you
can see the list of features available to import.
Depending on what kind
of features you want to display, use filter buttons:
displays the solid materials;
displays the volume heat sources;
displays the printed circuit boards.
Click to the feature name to see its properties which are provided
just for reference.
- Select the available features you want to import
from the model to the active project, by default all available features
are selected.
Note: If
some features are not allowed to import to the project, they are
marked by the conflict icon
and the error messages appear in the Conflicts column.
In this case you must fix the problems and restart
the scanning process by clicking Scan model for importable data
.
- Click Import features to Project
to
start the import process. You can interrupt the
process by clicking Stop
.
The features successfully
imported to the project are marked by the green tick
.
Results
The new items appear in the Flow Simulation Analysis Tree.
If the imported features are not already in the Engineering Database, Flow Simulation will add them into
the Engineering Database.
