Material Priorities

Allows you to view and adjust the order in which the materials and PCBs are applied for calculation.

Prerequisites

The Conduction option must be enabled on the Analysis type tab of the Wizard or General Settings dialog.

Procedure

  1. Open the Material Priorities  dialog:
    • On the ribbon, click Flow Simulation > Tools > Material Priorities.

    • In the menu, select Tools > Flow Simulation > Tools > Material Priorities.

    • In the Flow Simulation analysis tree, right-click the Input Data item and select Material Priorities.

The Material Priorities pane appears at the bottom of the screen and Flow Simulation will automatically start the scanning process to find components where solid materials or PCBs are specified.

You can interrupt the process by clicking Stop . Then you can restart the scanning process by clicking Scan Project .

  2. Select the material in the list and click Up  or Down  to adjust the order in which the materials are applied.

In case of overlapping geometry with different material definitions the material in the upper position on the list (the Priority number is smaller) is assigned to the overlapping region.

    Note:

By default, the default solid material specified in General Settings has the lowest priority (see “Specify the Default Solid Material”).

Click to the feature name to see its properties which are provided just for reference.

  3. Click  Apply to apply changes made in the dialog to the project.
  4. Click  Reset to reset the material priorities back to their default settings.
  5. Click Open Check Geometry  to open the Check Geometry dialog (see “Check Geometry”).
  6. Click Open Component Explorer  to open the Component Explorer dialog (see “Component Explorer”).
  7. Click Highlight geometry  to highlight the model geometry in the graphics area and speed up the selecting process. By default, the option is switched off.
