Refinement Table (Monitor)

Displays information about the solution-adaptive refinements that occurred during the calculation. The moments of refinement are indicated on the goal plot by the white circle on the X-axis.

Procedure

  1. Click Insert > Refinement Table.
  2. Under Iterations select an iteration at which the refinement occurred to display the following refinement information:
    • Iteration is the iteration at which the refinement occurred;

    • Travels is the number of travels achieved at the moment of refinement (see Travel);

    • Physical time is physical time achieved at the moment of refinement (for time-dependent analyses only);

    • CPU time is CPU time achieved at the moment of refinement;

    • Maximum allowed level is the maximum level (with respect to the Basic Mesh (Global Mesh) cells) cells can be split is required by the refinement criteria;

    • History duration is the calculation interval reckoned back from the refinement moment over which the information about the flow gradients was collected. If the refinement criteria for a cell had been satisfied at least once on the History duration interval, then the cell is split;

    • Total cells, Fluid cells, Solid cells, Solid-Fluid Boundary Cells, Irregular cells is the number of cells before and after the refinement.

Results

You can also display the refinement table after finishing the calculation by clicking Tools > Flow Simulation > Results > Results > Refinement Table on the Ribbon or selecting Tools > Flow Simulation > Results > Refinement Table in the menu.
