Allows you
to save the existing plot as an image of the specified format, size
and name without visualization of the plot in the graphics area.
The feature is available for the following plots:
Cut Plot,
Surface Plot,
Isosurface,
,
Flow Trajectories.
Procedure
- In the Analysis tree, right-click the existing
plot and select Save As.
- Under Type select the desired
format of the image:
Table 1. File formats.Type

Requires to specify the
image quality which ranges from Best compression (lowest
image quality) to Best quality (largest
file size).

Select the Save geometry check
box to include the geometry.
View Mode
. Allows to set the geometry rendering
style, if the Save geometry mode
is selected:
Auto. Displays the
solid model as specified by SOLIDWORKS rendering
settings.
Wireframe. Displays
only the model edges and silhouettes.
Shaded. Displays the
solid model with smooth shading and lighting that does not define
the face edges.
Shaded with
Edges. Displays the solid model with shading and lighting
with visible edges.
- If the file format has been set to BMP, JPEG, PNG or GIF,
under Resize and Orientation specify
the size and orientation of the image:
Resize
. Allows you to specify the image dimensions
in pixels. The possible values are: No resize, 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200,
and Custom with user-specified Height and Width in
pixels.
Extend size
for color bar. Automatically increases the size of the
plot to make sure that color bar is included.
Zoom
. Allows you to zoom the image by using one of the
following modes:
To zoom to the plot area specified under Crop region, select Zoom to Plot.
To zoom to the entire model geometry, select Zoom to Model.
To zoom to the entire Computational Domain,
select Zoom to Computational
domain.
To zoom to the graphics area of the active project,
select Active View.
Under Orientation
specify the orientation of the image:
Select one
of the standard views: Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom,
or Isometric.
For cut plots,
select Normal to plane to
orient the model normal to the cut plot’s section plane.
To select an
arbitrary view, orient the model in the graphics area as desired and
select Active View.
Note: Note that if Active
View is selected, for batch processing of plots the
current active view is used.
You can also select any previously created SOLIDWORKS view by selecting its
name form the list.
- If the file format has been set to BMP, JPEG, PNG or GIF,
under Background specify
the background color:
In the Color
list, select the color.
If you want to specify the gradient background,
check Gradient
button and specify the second color.
- Under the File Name, type the
full path and file name of the image in the input field or click Save
As
button and elect the desired directory
and type the file name.
- Click OK to
save the image and close the dialog box, or click Save to
save the image and proceed with the dialog box.
Results
By default, the images are saved in the project
directory accessible by clicking
on the ribbon or by right-clicking
the project name in the Flow Simulation analysis
tree and selecting Open Project Directory,
but you can also specify the desired directory where to save the
image file.
Note: For batch processing
of plots the settings specified in the Save
As dialog are used (see “Batch Results Processing”).
