The Add Computer dialog
specifies a list of computers from the network on which you can run
the calculation. This option allows you to use the other computer’s
CPU and memory resources at the expense of additional calculation
time due to data transfer through the network.
Prerequisites
The remote solver does not require to be authorized on the remote
computer.
Please, make sure that the appropriate TCP
port number for the remote solver is specified under Remote solver options in
the Options dialog
(see “Options” for details).
Procedure
- Open the Add Computer dialog:
In
the Run or Batch Run dialog,
select Add computer in
the Run At list.
In the Parametric Study dialog,
on the Scenario tab
click Add computer
button.
- Specify the computer on which you want to calculate
the project:
In the Name input
field, type the name or IP address of the network computer on which
calculations are run.
Or click Browse and
select the computer from the list of available network computers.
Note: Please,
make sure that the appropriate TCP port number for the remote solver
is specified under Remote solver options in
the Options dialog
(see “Options” for details).
In the Port input
field, type the port number of the network computer (see also “Options”).
Then click Add.
The selected computer
is added to the list of previously added network computers.
The list contains the additional info on
each of the computers, including the number of available processors
or cores, the amount of available memory and the type of operating system.
Check if these parameters are suitable for the project you want
to calculate.
- To delete a computer from the list:
In case of Run or Batch Run dialog,
select the computer name and click Delete button.
In case of Parametric Study dialog,
right-click the computer name and select Remove.
- Click OK to
apply the selected settings, click Cancel to
cancel the definition.
Results
Once the computer is added, you may select it
to calculate the project.
Tip You can assign a particular
project to be solved on the recently added computer by using the Run on option
in the Run or Batch Run dialog
box.
