Specify Default Reference Parameters

Allows to specify default reference parameters.

Procedure

  1. Open the Default Reference Parameters  dialog:
    • On the ribbon, click Flow Simulation > Results > Load > Default Reference Parameters.

    • In the menu, select Tools > Flow Simulation > Results > Default Reference Parameters.

    • In the Flow Simulation analysis tree, right-click the Reference Parameters item and select Default Reference Parameters.

  2. Under Fluid Temperature, specify the value of the Reference Fluid Temperature .

It also can be specified as a function of the provided parameters by clicking Dependency (see “Dependency”).

  3.  Under Comfort Parameters, specify the values of the reference parameters to calculate Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) and Predicted Percent Dissatisfied (PPD):
    • Specify the Metabolic Rate  value. By default it is set to 70 W/m2.

    • Specify the External Work  value. By default it is set to zero.

    • Specify the Thermal Resistance of Clothing  value. By default it is set to 0.11 m2K/W.

      Note:

The definition of clothing insulation relates to heat transfer from the whole body and, thus, also includes the uncovered parts of the body, such as head and hands.

    • Specify the Relative Humidity  value. By default it is set to 55%.

      Note:

If you analyze an air flow taking into account its relative humidity (if the Humidity option is specified on the Fluids tab of the General Settings or Wizard dialog), the relative humidity value is calculated.

  4. Under Pressure, you can also adjust Reference Pressure by selecting check box and then specifying the Reference Pressure  value.
  5. Under Velocity and Density, you can also adjust Reference Velocity and Reference Density by selecting check box and then specifying the Reference Velocity  and Reference Density  values.
  6. Click OK .
