In the Flow Simulation Analysis tree, right-click the existing tracer study and select Settings to edit definition of the tracer study.
The Tracer Study Settings dialog opens.
Select the tracer from the list of Pre-Defined
and User Defined tracers available in the Engineering Database and
click Add tracer
. This will add it to the Tracer Table.
Optionally, you can add more tracers to this table if your problem
deals with several admixtures.
If you want to add a new tracer to the Engineering Database or edit an existing one, click Create/Edit to open the Engineering Database.
To delete tracer from the Tracer
Table, select it in table and click Delete Tracer
or Delete All
if you want to clear this table.
If you consider Time-dependent analysis,
specify Calculation Time
and Manual Time Step
. If you want to specify a time-dependent
value, click Dependency
the right of the parameter value input
box (see “Dependency” for details).
The time step specified here is used when discretizing and solving time-dependent equations for the tracers.
By default, Flow Simulation only saves results from the last time moment.
Periodic Saving
. If you select this option, the results
will be periodically saved during the calculation. This option has
the following parameters:
Period of Saving
the calculation results.
Start Moment
of saving the calculation results.
Save Moment
. If you select this option, the results
will be saved at the moments specified in the List
of Time Moments To Save Results.
To add a time moment to this list, enter its value
in the Time Moment
input box and then click Add
Save Moment
.
To delete the time moment, select it in the list
and click Delete Save
Moment
or Delete
All
to clear this list.
Unit
. You can select Physical time or Iterations for specifying
the moments at which the results will be saved.
If you select here Iterations, one iteration will correspond to the specified value of the Manual Time Step.
This option is available if the Time-dependent option is not selected, i.e. the analysis is steady-state.
This option has the following parameters:
Automatic. If you select this option, the calculation will stop automatically.
Maximum iterations.
If you select this option, once the defined number of iterations
has completed, the calculation will stop. To define the number of iterations,
enter its value in the Maximum iterations
input box.
to the right of the parameter value input
box (see “Dependency” for details). You can also select a reference Coordinate System
to specify a non-uniform concentration
distribution.
The reference Coordinate System selected by default is the Global Coordinate System (see “Global Coordinate System” for details).
You can replace the default coordinate system by selecting your coordinate system in the flyout FeatureManager design tree.
To create a coordinate system, click Insert > Reference Geometry > Coordinate System.
If you want to use a cylindrical Coordinate System, select the axis of the specified Coordinate System as the Reference axis. The selected Coordinate System and Reference axis also define a local spherical coordinate system.
This option is available in case you consider a tracer with the saturation parameters specified in the Engineering Database.
