View Settings

Specifies the display of 2D-ruler and advanced settings for a faster display.

Also this tool allows you to specify the display of 2D-ruler.

Procedure

  1. Open the View Settings  dialog:
    • On the ribbon, click Flow Simulation > Results > Load > View Settings.

    • In the menu, select Tools > Flow Simulation > Results > View Settings.

    • In the Flow Simulation analysis tree, right-click the Results item and select View Settings.

  2. In the dialog double-click a Value cell to edit the cell contents or chose the appropriate parameter type:
    • Apply Lighting. Turns on the more realistic shaded view of 3D-Profile Plots and Isosurfaces as well as arrows and spheres along flow and particles trajectories. The lighting properties are acquired from the SOLIDWORKS model's lighting.

      Note:

      Note that when the Apply Lighting option is enabled displayed colors change and become different from the color palette selected in the Color Bar dialog (see “Color Bar”).

    • Display while dynamic. Allows you to hide or display results while the model is being rotated, zoomed or panned. To hide results, double-click the Value cell and select No.

    • Probes. Defines the default interpolation and parameter selection modes for Probes (see “Probes”).

      • Interpolate by default. Specifies the default interpolation mode for parameters values displayed at probes and newly created probe callouts. You can select the Same as plot option to use the interpolation mode of the plot, over which the probe is positioned at the moment, or Always to show interpolated values at new probes ignoring the plot settings, or Never to show non-interpolated values at all new probes.

      • Default Parameters. Specifies how the list of parameters, displayed at the probes and newly created probe callouts, is defined. You can select Take from the last probe to retain the selection of parameters from the last probe when a new probe is created. Or you can select Take from plot to show the values of parameter displayed at the plot, over which the probe is positioned at the moment.

    • 2D-Ruler. To show the 2D-Ruler select Show, to hide it select Hide.

      • Mode. If the Object Fixed mode is selected 2D-Ruler is scaled together with the model. In the Window Fixed mode 2D-Ruler is resized to fit the graphics area.

      • Left, Right, Bottom, Top margins. The distance from the graphics area borders to the window fixed 2D-Ruler (in pixels).

      • Ruler color, Ruler transparency. Sets color and transparency of the 2D-ruler.

      • Number of X-ticks, Number of Y-ticks (if the Window Fixed mode is selected). Controls the number of ticks for the window fixed 2D-Ruler.

      • Grid x-step, Grid y-step (if the Object Fixed mode is selected). Sets the distance between the adjacent grid lines.

      • Display grid. Displays or hides the ruler grid.

      • Grid color, Grid transparency. Sets color and transparency of the grid lines.

      • Display values. Displays or hides the values at the bottom and right borders of the 2D-ruler.

      • Font color, Font transparency, Font size. Specifies font settings for the displayed values.

    • 3D-Ruler. To show the 3D-Ruler select Show, to hide it select Hide.

      • Box. To hide the 3D-Ruler bounding box, select Hide, to show it select Show.

        • Color. Sets the box color. To change the color, click the Value cell and select the desired color from the color palette.

        • Transparency. Sets transparency of the bounding box. To change the transparency, double-lick the Value cell and enter the desired value.

      • Grid. To hide the grid, select Hide, to show it select Show.

        • Xmin, Xmax, Ymin, Ymax, Zmin, and Zmax. Lets you specify the box sides on which you want to display grid lines.

        • x-step, y-step, z-step. Sets the distance between the adjacent grid lines.

        • Color. Sets the grid color. To change the color, click the Value cell and select the desired color from the color palette.

        • Transparency. Sets transparency of the grid lines. To change the transparency, double-click the Value cell and enter the desired value.

      • Grid Captions. Lets you specify the size (Font scale factor), Color and Transparency (from 0 to 1) of the values at the grid lines. You can also hide the values while the model is being rotated, zoomed or panned.

      • XYZ Captions. Lets you specify the font size (Font scale factor), Color and Transparency (from 0 to 1) of the axis title. You can also hide titles while the model is being rotated, zoomed or panned.
