Within a tracer study you can specify a
volume source for the analyzed admixture.
Procedure
- Open the Volume Tracer Source
dialog:The Volume Tracer Source dialog
opens.
- Under Selection,
select a component which you want to consider as the volume source of
the tracer in the graphics area (see “Selection List” for details).
You can also select a component or a solid body
in the flyout FeatureManager
design tree.
Note: The selected solid body
must be disabled in the Component Control to
be no longer treated as a solid domain in the analysis.
These components appear in the Components to Apply the Volume
Tracer Source
list.
Tip To quickly
select components on which you have specified an initial condition,
or volume source, select the corresponding feature in the Flow Simulation Analysis tree. All components
belonging to the feature will be automatically selected.
- Under Tracer, select the
tracer you want to specify the source for.
- In the Parameter group select
the appropriate source type from the following types:
Mass Fraction
, dimensionless. Specify the value for
the mass fraction.
Mass Flow
, in kg/s. Specify the value for the mass
flow rate.
Volumetric Mass Flow
, in kg/s/m3.
Specify the value for the mass flow per unit volume.
If you want to specify a time- or coordinate-dependent
value, click Dependency
to the right of the parameter value input box (see “Dependency” for details).
- Click OK
.-or-
Click Keep Visible
before
clicking OK
to keep the dialog open and define more volume
tracer sources.
Results
The new volume tracer source item (VS) appears in the Flow Simulation Analysis tree.
To edit the definition of a volume source, in
the Flow Simulation Analysis
tree, double-click the volume tracer source item, or right-click
the item and select Edit Definition.
Also you can use a callout in the graphics area
to edit definition of a volume source (see “Feature Callout” for details).
