The Properties tab displays the general details of the task including Notes, Task details and Attachments.
When creating a task, the user may have more fields available than when working with a task, based upon the their access permissions.
This is system field for the task numbering scheme, configure by the System Administrator. This field cannot be edited by the user.
This is system field showing the Task Owner. This field can be modified if the user has the required permissions.

This is field is defined when the task is created. This field cannot be edited by the user unless they are the task owner.
This is the start date for the task and is defined when the task is created. This field cannot be edited by the user unless they are the task owner.
This is the end date for the task and is defined when the task is created. This field cannot be edited by the user unless they are the task owner.
This option overrides the requirement for an end date as the task runs from the selected start date.
With this option selected, a notification will be sent on the date and time specified. This field cannot be edited by the user unless they are the task owner.
This field link to the reminder option. The selected users will be sent the reminder. This field cannot be edited by the user unless they are the task owner.
This field is used to denote the current status of the task, from the options available in the drop-down list.
This field is used to denote the priority of the task, This us useful for filtering and reporting purposes. Options are available from the drop-down list. This field cannot be edited by the user unless they are the task owner.
This field is used to denote the current percentage of task completion using the values in the drop-down list. This may not be available to the user if the task creator has configured the task completion to be calculated based upon time allocated

This field is used to determine the hours required to complete the task. The number of hours allocated does not necessarily have to match the start and end time (in hours). This field cannot be edited by the user unless they are the task owner.
Notes can be added to advise the user on actions required or as an area to keep general notes about the task. Notes can be added by the task user or task owner. The task user can remove notes which they have created, but not notes created by any other user. This can only be done by the task owner.
Task Details is similar to Notes but displays any details added in a numbered list with a check box next to each item. The task user can remove details which they have created, but not details created by any other user. This can only be done by the task owner.
If the Calculate completion from this list option is selected, then when the check box against each Task Detail is checked, the overall Task completion is calculated and updated.
Overall Task Completion is a calculated as a percentage, based upon the number of Task Details.
If a task is created directly from a record, that record will be added as an attachment to the task. Other records can also be added after the task is created.
If a task is created independently, then any number of records can be added to the task.
Attachments are for information proposes only. A task does not require attachments.
